Malty Media's third EP features more silliness, this time constructed out of the milieu of our 18-month radio show stint at Radio Active. Out of the madness that included sea shanty hiphop and the bizarre hootings of cosmic seals comes these 5 battle-hardened tracks.

You can listen to the release on this page or download it from Bandcamp.

Buck Yeah

The opener features numerous samples from this YouTube clip. The resultant track is a laidback interstellar swagger featuring mutterings about VERY STRONG RELAXANTS and a brief cameo from the much-reviled Bette Middler. "It's disgusting!"

2Computer Music 1984Michael liberated the beginning of this track from an ancient TV show about computer music, from 1984. The great thing about computing in the 1980s was that the ingredients for contemporary computing were all there, just underpowered and kind of lame. More to be enthusiastic about, then. The track itself shakes about with brittle uptempo enthusiasm.
3Lyre BirdThe larynx of the lyrebird is pretty much a tweeter (hoho) through which just about any conceiveable sound may emanate. Around the short demonstration of lyrebird's skills an amiable beat lollops along, providing commentary is David Attenborough, perhaps the greatest human being alive, now that Alec Guinness is no longer with us.
4Ned (The Swimmer)Using quotes from the soundtrack of The Swimmer, a rather eerie 60s film starring a frighteningly masculine Burt Lancaster, Michael built this wonderfully dreamy track.
5Yum YumWe somehow still consider ourselves big fans of the Goodies (although if you watch episodes today you'll realise just how undiscerning with their TV choices children really are). Throw in Carl Sagan, a jew's harp and a bit of last minute bass-playing from our friend Al (who contributes to what is now a very affecting middle 8), and you have bullions and bullions of reasons to listen to this eminently danceable final track.
